News: TOWIE: Amy Childs says show will survive

Despite all the recent criticism and drama it has experienced, Amy Childs thinks that The Only Way Is Essex will stay strong and continue.

Fans of the hit ITV2 reality show will know how two show favourites recently quit, whilst another two ‘disappeared’ for a few weeks after a huge blow up with production staff on a social networking site.

Amy Childs, believes that it can come back stronger, and that it has the fan-base to run and run.

Speaking after competing in the Richmond Half Marathon on Sunday explained:

“It will continue for a long time – it’s got the fans, the community.”

However, despite the many, many stories suggesting that now the strict ‘no-returns’ policy had been lifted for stars who had walked, Amy insisted she had no plans to return to show:

“I’m just doing my own thing now and have had my own TV show.”

One thing that could improve viewing figures would be a TOWIE wedding, and would you believe that is exactly what they are going to have!

Fans of the show will know that during Sunday night’s episode Joey Essex whisked girlfriend Sam Faiers off to Dubai where he planned to propose.

News: Amy Childs: I’m too busy to return to TOWIE but I’m up for a 10-year reunion

As The Only Way Is Essex prepares to go live for the first time tonight, there’s one cast member fans are desperate to see back on the series: Amy Childs.
The 22-year-old left the show last year to pursue other projects and has since taken part in Celebrity Big Brother, starred in her own Channel 5 series It’s All About Amy and raised money for charity by competing in Let’s Dance For Sport Relief with her cousin Harry Derbidge.
And with her very own pop-up shop and a range of eyelashes now on the market, it’s no wonder TOWIE’s biggest success story doesn’t have time to return to the show that made her famous right now.
‘Everyone wants me to go back on there,’ she tells Metro. ‘But I’m too busy to go back at the minute. I’m busy working on my brand, the salon, the boutique and the clothes show.’

But with TOWIE still going strong without her, does she regret leaving the show?
‘Not one bit no,’ she insists. ‘I love what I do know and I still love TOWIE but you have to have a happy medium.
‘I remember talking to my manager and thinking what will happen if I leave but I really thought about it and then I just went.

‘TOWIE sometimes stopped you from doing things and This Morning wanted me to be the presenter doing beauty. I have done so much. I did leave at the right time.’
Maybe TOWIE bosses should organise a reunion? Amy seems enthused: ‘Yeah, bring the old cast back in 10 years. It will be like American Pie: Reunion, but the TOWIE reunion.’
As for how long she thinks the show can last, Amy is optimistic it has another series or two in it yet: ‘I do think nothing lasts in life but I would say a good year definitely.
‘People love it and people say it’s their guilty pleasure – which it is – but sometimes another show can come along.’

Amy says she won’t be competing on Dancing On Ice like Lauren next year
And while Amy says she has ‘a lot of TV work planned for next year’, she’s keeping tight-lipped about what specific projects she’s working on, but reckons Dancing On Ice – which fellow TOWIE alumnus Lauren Goodger is participating in – could be a step too far for her.

‘My dad always says if you ever get asked to do anything don’t do DOI,’ she admits. ‘When Jennifer Ellison did it last year, it used to scare me watching her. I would definitely do Strictly though.
‘Lauren is a size 12, she is curvy but she is not fat. She has a nice figure but she still gets so much stick for it. Dancing On Ice will help her to keep fit, so I’m definitely backing Lauren. I might go and watch her.’
Amy has also been keeping her eye on the jungle, but thinks I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is another show she couldn’t take part in herself.

‘I was asked this time,’ she reveals. ‘I had a meeting about it, but I just sat there thinking, “they would all hate me, they would all hate me,” because I like my make-up so much. I like being glam.
‘I hate all the insects and I can’t deal with rats. I would be worse than Helen Flannigan so the jungle is not for me.’
As for supposed rivalry between TOWIE and other reality TV shows, Amy remains diplomatic, insisting the programmes are so different it’s hard to compare them.
‘I love Made In Chelsea and I think it’s a great show,’ she says ‘I think you can’t tell because they are both really different.

‘I’m a huge fan of Geordie Shore. I watch it and it’s just my guilty pleasure. I sit there and can’t believe what they are like. However, I have met all the girls and they are lovely.’
And as her former cast mates gear up to perform in tonight’s live episode, Amy says she’s glad it’s them and not her.
‘I think it is going to be hard but I am excited to watch it,’ she says. ‘People love it and now with a live episode it must be nerve-wracking. I would be terrified if I was doing it.
‘But you can’t think like that. You just have to think positive and they will all be fine.’

News: Amy Childs and Kirk Norcross flirt over a chicken sandwich on Twitter

One of the many bonuses of being a celebrity journalist for a living is that when big stories break reality stars start flirting on Twitter, you’re first to spot it.

That’s why this news is coming at you in real time, as Kirk Norcross and Amy Childs are flirting over a chicken sandwich AS WE SPEAK.

The former TOWIE stars – they both left the show to star in respective reality shows – used to go out with each other, and there were rumours a few months ago linking them again.

But there was never any evidence. UNTIL NOW. Actually, there’s still no evidence, they’re just flirting over a butty. But if you’re like us – and we’re assuming you are, you’ve got this far, and you’re on 3am in the first place – you’ll still find this interesting.

So how did all this chicken flirting begin, you may ask. Well, it began over a simple tweet from Amy Childs. This tweet read: ‘Mmmmm chicken salad sandwich for lunch , I’m starving xxx’

So far, so unflirtatious. But wait. Because Kirk then replied: ‘sounds nice!!! :-) x’

At this point, you may still be thinking WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT, IT’S A SANDWICH? Fair point, but stick with us.

Amy replied: ‘look at you stalking me twitter xxx’ (kisses: noted) before Kirk said ‘haha it makes my day go faster! ;-) x’

Flirty, right? And Amy thinks so too, because she messaged back: ‘you flirt xxx’ with Kirk replying: ‘always ;-) x’

Meanwhile their ex co-star Lauren Goodger was out (probably) boozing last night. Here’s the pictures for you to judge for yourselves.

Never say that 3am aren’t first to spot any big news, people.

News: Amy Childs impressed with Arg’s transformation

The Only Way Is Essex star has shed the pounds after undertaking a training regime for yesterday’s London marathon and Amy is thrilled that Arg’s weight battles now appear to be behind him.

She said: “OMG, I can’t believe how much more weight Arg has lost! He looks so much better – especially with his new teeth. He’s a bit insecure, but he seems so confident now. I think he’s just right at the moment – I don’t think people want him to get too skinny.”

Amy also believes Arg and his former girlfriend Lydia Bright will get back together although she doesn’t think Arg should have changed his physical appearance in order to please his ex.

She added: “I thought it was a bit sad that he said he did it all for Lydia, as he should do it for himself. She said that she wouldn’t take him back, but I do think they’ll get back together one day.”

News: Amy Childs: ‘Lauren Goodger should quit Only Way Is Essex’

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs has supported Lauren Goodger’s potential departure from the show.

Goodger’s future on the ITV2 programme has been put in doubt following a row with producers last week and she is not mentioned as part of the cast for a special episode in Marbella.

Childs, who quit TOWIE after its second series at the beginning of 2011, has now urged her ex co-star to “move on” from the show.

“I don’t know the ins and outs of what happened as obviously I’m not a part of that anymore,” she wrote in her New column. “But if she has quit or has been axed then I think this could be a good thing.

“I reckon it’s a good time for Lauren to move on from TOWIE. She has a successful business and lots of fans, so she’ll be just fine with or without the show.”

Goodger has declined to confirm her TOWIE status, saying only that she is discussing “some issues” with bosses.

However, she seemingly hinted at her departure in a Twitter message on Sunday (April 29), which read: “Sometimes in life everything happens for a reason I don’t no why but all u can be is true 2 yourself and do what makes u happy #loyal.”

News: Amy Childs ‘shocked’ by Lauren and Jessica fight

Amy Childs was “shocked” when Lauren Goodger and Jessica Wright clashed in a nightclub, but she admits the pair “haven’t always seen eye to eye” in the past.

Amy Childs was “shocked” when Lauren Goodger and Jessica Wright clashed in a nightclub.

The reality TV beauty was stunned to see her former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ cast mates slamming each other during the final episode of the ITV2 show, although she admits the pair “haven’t always seen eye to eye” in the past.

She explained: “I was quite shocked to read that Jess Wright and Lauren Goodger had a fight. I know they haven’t always seen eye to eye, but they have always got along, even if it was for Mark’s sake.

“It must have been a bad argument. I’m not taking sides, but I hope they can make up, as it’s horrible to fall out with someone you’ve known for so long. Plus, they have the same circle of friends.”

The 21-year-old beautician was also surprised to hear ‘TOWIE’ beauty Sam Faiers has split with her boyfriend TJ, but she expects the blonde star to recover from her break up.

Writing in her column for new! magazine, she added: “I texted Sam Faiers last week after I read she had split up with her boyfriend TJ.

“I feel so bad for her, as they’ve just got a house and I really did think they would go the distance.

Relationships are so hard when one of you is in the public eye. It really does take some work to get a balance. I’m sending Sam lots of love, but I know she’s going to be OK.”

News: Amy & Harry Reveal Details About Their BBC’s Let’s Dance Appearance

Former TOWIE stars Amy Childs and Harry Derbidge are currently busy rehearsing for their upcoming appearance on the BBC dance show, Let’s Dance, in aid of Sport Relief.

With just over a week until the show debuts, both Amy and Harry told Entertainmentwise at the Kandee shoes Launch party that they are “so excited” to get on the dance floor.

Harry confessed to us: “I went to a performing arts college, so it’s fine for me and Amy’s picked it up really well.”

Although they can’t give anything away about their act, Harry did admit that their routine is “very different” and that they have been “rehearsing a lot” for the show.

Reality star Amy revealed that she has struggled to get to grips with the routine, but she reassured us that there would be no hitches on the big night, explaining:

“Do you know what I did find it difficult, but it’s for charity and we’re having such a laugh doing it.”

She added: It is hard, but we have so much rehearsal time, so I’m sure we’ll be absolutely fine.”

As well as Amy and Harry hitting the dancefloor, it has been confirmed that pop star Olly Murs, Ulrika Jonsson and comedian Omid Djalili will be among those joining them in the competition, with music from JLS, Will Young, LMFAO, Tinchy Stryder and Pixie Lott.

Let’s Dance for Sport Relief kicks off on the 18th February. Will you be watching Amy and Harry strut their stuff?

News: Amy Childs admits TOWIE salon was fake

Amy Childs made the vajazzle famous in her bright pink beauty salon on The Only Way Is Essex.

However, the reality star has admitted that the salon was fake and was never actually open for business.

The 21-year-old admitted that the parlour was built by producers and was only used during filming.

She told Weekend: “Can I tell you a big secret? My beauty salon in TOWIE wasn’t real – it was all fake and set up in Mum and Dad’s garage.

“I can’t believe people didn’t know.”

She added: “The salon where I was working when I started on the show didn’t want to be part of it.”

Childs decided to leave the programme after the second series and take part in Celebrity Big Brother.

She has since fulfilled her wish of owning a salon. The Essex lass opened Amy Childs’ Salon in Brentwood in November.

The salon is currently at the centre of her new reality show It’s All About Amy.

She said: “I can’t believe I have my own beauty salon.

“It’s a dream come true.”

News: Amy Childs Has ‘No Regrets’ About Leaving The Only Way Is Essex

Amy Childs has revealed she has no regrets about going solo since quitting The Only Way Is Essex, proving that she has a head for business, making significantly more last year than any of her other reality co-stars.

The reality show beauty told Mr Paparazzi: “Leaving TOWIE was the best thing I’ve ever done. I have my own reality show and so much going on that I’ve never regretted leaving for a second.”

Since saying goodbye to her TOWIE co-stars, Amy has opened a beauty salon in her hometown of Brentwood, appeared in last year’s Celebrity Big Brother and now has her own successful reality show on Channel 5, It’s All About Amy.

Tipped to earn over £10m this year, Amy is far and away the most successful star from the television phenomenon, and is now so busy, she admits she has no time to watch the reality show that first made her famous.

Former co-stars Mark Wright and Kirk Norcross are also hot on her heels branching out into other reality shows.

Mark Wright was a runner up in the last series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, and is now presenting Take Me Out spin-off show, Take Me Out: The Gossip.

Meanwhile Kirk Norcross is currently wowing the nation in tiny gold shorts on this year’s Celebrity Big Brother.

News: Amy Childs: ‘I am seeing Joe again but we are taking things slowly’

As the break-out star of ITV2’s The Only Way Is Essex, Amy Childs went on to work her girl-next-door charm in Celebrity Big Brother, then landed her very own reality show, It’s All About Amy.

But it wasn’t all plain sailing – as 21-year-old Amy’s star rose, her relationship with boyfriend Joe Hurlock, 24, hit the skids.

However, as Amy reveals to new!, after a few months apart, the former couple are giving their love another go, but are “taking things slowly”.

When new! arrives at an east London studio for our exclusive Christmas shoot, Amy is already in full make-up, devouring a large chicken sandwich.

Then, with a hitch of her boobs and a good shake of her trademark red mane, she slips into a white sparkly number and the huge angel wings we’ve had custom made.

“I really want some of these,” she says, admiring her feathers and striking a pose.

As you can see, Amy looks absolutely stunning in our pictures.

As well as finding out what goes on in the Childs household at Christmas, we’re dying to know exactly what the score is with her and Joe.

Here, our columnist reveals why she’s realised no one compares to “her Joe” and tells us it was him seeing other girls that made her realise her true feelings…

So, there are rumours you’ve got back with Joe. What’s happening?
We’re back in touch and I’d be lying if I said we didn’t want to get back together. I’ve always said I wouldn’t rule it out. I think I still love him.

So you are back together?
We’re taking things slowly. We’re still really close – just texting, talking, and he comes over every now and then. But I’ve been really busy lately and I haven’t been able to give him much time. We’ll see if that changes in the new year.

You seem cautious…
I just don’t want to say too much, as I don’t know what’s happening myself. It may not work out again.

You split up because you didn’t spend enough time together…
Exactly, so before I say, “Yeah, we are back together,” I have to be sure I do have time for him.

Will you see him over Christmas?
No, he’s going away, I think, and I’ll be with my family. But when he gets back, I have two weeks off, so we’ll see each other then.

Will you get each other presents?
I might get him a little something.

There were reports that we’ll see you back together on your show…
Even if we did get back together, he wouldn’t be on the show. He’s never liked the limelight.

Have either of you been out with anyone else since you split?
He’s been out with girls. When I found out, I was distraught. I was calling him, texting him. I turned into a bit of a stalker! I couldn’t handle it.

Was that a bit of a wake-up call about how you felt?
Definitely. Things like that make me feel like we’re meant to be together.

Do you ever think you should just meet someone else?
Do you know what, I go to all these parties where there are good-looking boys and I always refer back to Joe. I compare everyone to him.

You told new! you wanted to date another celebrity. Did you get any offers?
I tweeted Professor Green the other day. I fancy him. I think he’s so fit. He invited me to one of his gigs.

So is it Professor Green you’d like to get under the mistletoe this year?
Absolutely! But he’s going to think I’m a right mug now. My obsession with him is a joke.
